Club Presentation: Michael Strapec

Michael Strapec in front of a number of his prints.

We were treated to a rare presentation of the work of club member, Michael Strapec, last night. It was a mix of pre-recorded video and digital images. Michael shared a large selection of images, and offered insight into how he took them, his motivation and ideas. He offered tips for working with reluctant younger family members (a trip to the toy store!) as well as showing off his bag of props he uses for his outstanding portraits.

It was a hugely enjoyable evening. Michael’s stories about his photography were entertaining, and his photos of a recent trip to Romania were a peek into a very different world for club members.

You can see some of Michael’s work on his website at michaelstrapec.com or follow him on Instagram here.

A visit to Waterloo

We visited the nearby Waterloo Church and round tower on Thursday night on a beautiful sunny evening, with barely a cloud in the sky. Our objective was to show off the fabulous work the Waterloo Renewal Group have carried out in the area.

Waterloo didn’t disappoint those who travelled, as they got to appreciate the beauty on our own doorstep.

The club couldn’t have got a better evening to see Waterloo at it’s finest.

It’s nights like these you get to see how the Club is part of our community. Capturing and showcasing the moments and places that matter.

Special acknowledgment to the Waterloo Renewal Group, who work tirelessly throughout the year to make the area such a picturesque place that we can all enjoy. So much work goes on behind the scenes.
